Dear Robert, you're not the first one who has
mentioned that Israel has invaded the Palestinian
territories and placed settlements among them
(to maintain a military supremacy there) to justify
the Palestinians' "resistence." But this is Arab
propaganda--this is NOT the root cause of the
Arab/Muslim desire/longing to butcher the Israelis:
What you conveniently forget to do is go back all
the way---If you like you can go back all the way
to Joshua's conquest after the Egyptian exile (and
conveniently forget wherefrom the Hebrews went into
that exile). We could, I suppose, trace the history of
the Jews in Israel and Judea (and contrast that with
the history of the relatively recent influx of Arab
Bedouin nomads who now style themselves Palestinians).
But I doubt we could discourse about these matters
with any degree of equanimity and unbiased fairness.
Instead lets consider the fact that the United Nations
already instituted the two-state solution everybody's
talking about, back in 1948. And, regardless of all
their claims to ALL the Hebrew lands, the Jews of
"Palestine" accepted that partition and the borders
mandated by the United Nations--the Jews would have
been (if not "happy") content to live in the sliver of
all their former lands, had the Arabs been smart and
conscientious enough to permit them to live there in
peace. But we all know what ensued instead: The Arabs,
500 million of them decided to march on the tiny
Jewsish comminity of Israel and murder ALL THE JEWS
there (men, women, and children) and "throw their
bones into the Mediterranean." [Jews had been living
in "Palestine" even since Rome destroyed Jerusalem.]
Through a miracle which defies belief, the Jews of
Israel managed to survive and actually defeated all
those Arab countries combined. (Perhaps in order to
prove to the enemies of god & of mankind that "the god
of Moses IS god," as Yul Brenner put it in a movie
once. Something which, apparently the Muslims have
not yet come to understand.)
That is why Gaza must be kept under strict quarantine.
That is why the West Bank must be kept under perpetual
military subjugation. That is why a tiny nation like
Israel must remain not only the equal but the military
superior of all the Muslims countries in the world
combined ... if ever you needed to ask why this is so:
Because the Muslims forever still dream of murdering
all the Jews in Israel (men, women, and children) to
the last one and of "throwing their bones to the sea"
--without any overt sign that they will EVER stop
dreaming of such butchery. The most the Jews of Israel
can ever hope for is the "temporary truces" that the
Muslim "holy" book (the Koran) advices Muslims to sign
whenever their enemies are militarily superior so they
can regroup and re-arm until they can break the truce
at their own convenience ... and stab in the back all
foolish enough to sign such false truces with Muslims.
So I suspect that, unless Muslims suddenly convert
from the blood-thirsty cult of the moon-god Allah to
Christianity or Buddhism tomorrow, the current
situation in the Middle East will continue as it has
ever been, and far, far into the unforseeable future...
as Muslim Arabs continue to believe that their moon-
god Allah commands them to murder and terrorize
all non-Muslims, and Jews most of all.

And, I am sorry as all get-out, Robert, but there's
just no way to live with ferocious beasts hell-bent
on butchering one except to try to keep them safe
as kittens inside whatever cages one can fashion
for them... for as long as they remain ferocious
and beasts.
